Port Isaac

There's plenty to do around Port Isaac, so you don't always have to go far for a nice day out.

Walks: Leaving Port Isaac in either direction along the coast will take you to coastal path walks with breathtaking views.

Beach: At low tide the beach is lovely for a potter and scramble amongst the rock pools.

Restaurants: There's a host of places to eat out in Port Isaac. Restaurants and tea shops include: The Slipway Hotel, Old School House and Restaurant, The Harbour Restaurant, The Mote Bar and Restaurant, The Edge, and The Golden Lion Inn, Cupcakes, the Victoria House Café, and the Smiling Sardine. And you can pop in for tea, or a drink in most of these places dependent on the season. There is also The Take-away and Nicky B’s pasty shop for grabbing food on the go.

Fishermen's Friends: During the summer, a group of local fishermen (now with a record contract!) gather each Friday evening for a good old sing song, outside on The Platt, if you get the chance to catch them it's a heart-warming event!

St Breward Silver Band: From the end of May to the beginning of September the St Breward Silver Band, National Champions in 2009, come and play on The Platt every Thursday evening. For some interactive entertainment, join them in the Floral Dance as they make their way up and down the village!

Fishmonger: If you fancy cooking some fresh fish, then there's Dennis Knight opposite The Slipway. If you’re looking for fresh shellfish, you can get that too with a separate stall there that sells shellfish, and another one at the top of the village. You can buy fresh dressed crab, and the usual whelks and pint of prawns, but also you could treat yourself to fresh lobster! If you pop in in the morning and order it, they will cook and prepare it for you to pick up at the end of the day.

Groceries: You can get most of the daily essentials from the Co-op at the top of Port Isaac.
